  4. The Palestinian people live in transitional epidemiological period where health service will not be able to meet the challenges of non communicable disease without a detailed precise knowledge of the prevalence, incidence and severity of these diseases. To achieve this important objective clinic and hospital information systems should be deployed in the hospital and primary health centers

  5. In Palestine no or weak national data are available on the overall incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, DM, and accident. • This lack of information leads to inability to estimate the direct and indirect cost, resources required, policy and decision-making regarding prevention and treatment • This is not the case in malignant disease,

  6. In 1998 cancer registry was established in cooperation between ministry of health and MECC in both Gaza and Bit Jala (West Bank), which play important role in reporting and classifying the malignant diseases.

  7. Notifiability of cancer in the country • Cancer disease is considered as a notifiable disease . There was a report circulated to all health sectors in the Gaza governorate and West Bank to consider cancer as a notifiable disease , this report was directed by our minister of health .The response from these sectors actually differ , although we do receive information from most sectors but other health sectors are not co-operative with us about cancer cases .
