The House of York • King Edward IV • 1461 -1470, 1471 – 1483 • great-great-great-grandsonof Edward III • twice a king of England, winning the struggle against the Lancasters • King Richard III • 1483 - 1485 • younger brother of Edward IV • killed in battle against Henry VII  endof the Wars of the Roses. • last English King to die on the battlefield

  5. TheTudor dynasty Henry Vll(the Lancaster) married Elizabeth of York (the York). This marriage united the two families. Henry created the Tudor rose, containing both the White rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster. It symbolized the end of a struggle between York and Lancaster
