Mission of MBAN SG Area Networks (WPANs)

  • Study the prospects of an amendment of 802.15.4 for MBAN

    • If a task group is created it is expected to define any modifications required to the existing PHY and the possible modifications to the MAC needed to support the PHY that complies with the FCC MBAN regulations

  • Generate a draft MBAN PAR and 5C

  • Prepare a report to accompany PAR and 5C

  • Discussed technical topics identified in May (Beijing) meeting

    • Coexistence issues

    • MBAN and 15.6 Parameters

    • Transmit power and absorption rates

  • Held a joint meeting with TG6 to discuss coexistence issues

  • Updated the draft PAR and 5C
