  1. How to Choose the Right Window Tint for Your Car There are several options you can choose when finding the right window tint for your car. Many people find the vast number of possible options overwhelming – and a bit frustrating. Although each situation is different, every person can choose the right window tint for them by becoming knowledgeable on the various options available to them. This will help consumers choose the right window tint for their car by helping them find those which offer the benefits they most want. Car Window Tint Types The first thing every smart purchaser should know are the different general types of car window tint. In general, most tints are either (A) non-reflective or (B) metalized. Non-reflective film will help to control heat and glare through solar absorption. The most common types of this film on the current market is dyed film. Dyed film provides the additional benefits of increased clarity and optical quality by providing additional glare protection. Metalized films use reflection to control heat and protect car interiors from damaging UV rays. It also provides more privacy. The downside, however, is that because of how dark it is, metalized films are illegal in some states. They can also interfere with electronic devices. Color Options There are numerous color options available when choosing window tint. While you could potentially purchase tint in any color imaginable (or almost, anyways), the most common colors used are charcoal, gray, bronze, gold, and (of course) black. Material Types Consumers can also choose from a variety of material types, each with their own distinct pros and cons. As mentioned above, dyed film is one of the most popular options. It is incredibly cost-effective in the short term, but also has the highest risk of damage. Another option is carbon film. This material is much stronger and denser than other options, and has a low risk of being discolored. It can, however, make the interior of cars too hot in certain climates. Ceramic film is another popular option, which has no issues with heating or discoloring. Unfortunately, it tends to not have a long lifespan because it oxidizes too quickly, thus causing it to fade. Once faded, ceramic film will not work properly and will need replacement. Key Things to Consider When choosing the right window tint for your car there are a few other things to consider outside of type, color, and material. Here are just a few of the most important things to consider before making a purchase:

  2. What shade would you like to have? The darker the window tint, the better it performs in certain aspects. In those regards, what are the legal limits on window tint for your state or municipality? You can ask a professional tint company if you are unsure or look up the laws and regulations online. Do I need additional UV protection for any reason – such as a medical issue? Finding an Installer Once you’ve decided on the exact tint you want, you’ll need to find a professional car window tint installation company in your area. Look for one with a good reputation, who offers the type of tint you are looking for.
