  1. swisstopo Report for EGVAP 2007/2008 E. Brockmann

  2. Content • GPS -> GPS/GLONASS in Switzerland • Activities in E-GVAP • Super site selection • EUMETNET / EUREF Memorandum of Understanding

  3. Satellite Constellation Status end of April 2008 32 GPS-satellites 16 GLONASS-satellites

  4. GNSS orbits (from CODE) + GPS “29” triple launch GLONASS October 2007: only 9 of 17 satellites operational including “unhealthy” satellites

  5. 10 double stations ARDE BOUR DAVO ETHZ FRIC HOHT MART SAAN STAB ZIMM • Double stations as compromise between real-time applications (higher availability of the positioning service swipos under difficult environment) and the aspects of reference frame maintenance (continuity of time series)

  6. Tracking: ZIMM (GPS) – ZIM2 (GNSS) 12 channels max. ∅ 14 GNSS ∅ 10 GPS ZIM2 ZIMM

  7. Activities AGNES-II 2007 • March-June: antenna calibration with a robot (company Geo++) 34 individuel antennas + IGS values ( ) Elev.-dependent antenna phase center variations GPS (individuel) + GLONASS (group) [mm] no “outlier antenna”

  8. Activities AGNES-II 2007(2) • Nov. 06 –Sept. 07: GNSS-analyses changes BSW 5.0++ • CODE GNSS orbits • Baseline optimization • Preprocessing bugs eliminated for GNSS • 14. June (PAYE) – 2. July (GENE): 20 stations upgraded • 10.9.:Ambiguity-float GNSS results presented already in Matera • Oct. 07: ambiguity resolution for hourly processing *) QIF: only ambiguites with identical frequencies; no amb. GPS - GLONASS DOY 350 (16. December) 2007

  9. station Luzern (antenna change: July 11, 2007) 0 mm 2 mm 25 mm Activities AGNES-II 2007(3) • Aug. – today: double station setup (4 sites still missing) • 18. Dec.: new site coordinates and new web system (CMS)

  10. Activities AGNES-II 2008 • LPTR real-time contribution: only GNSS stations • 15.4.08: LPT analysis on a new computer (no model changes) 3 times faster processing 30 minutes earlier! xx:60’ xx:30’ Delivering to EGVAP xx:15’ Processing start ~ 80 GNSS sites

  11. Activities AGNES-II 2008(2) ztd “peaks” at xx:00 and x:59 • Delivering statistics E-GVAP before April 15 after April 15

  12. GNSS validation: ZIM2 Reference: PP, GNSS, absolute antenna PCV GLONASS influence is small for daily PP amb-fix solutions

  13. Super sites Small coordinaterepeatability problems see also EPN web page

  14. EUMETNET – EUREF - MOU • signed in London, June 2007: Data exchange and usage of radiosonde and synop (meteo) for geodetic scientific use • Radiosonde data made available on DMI data server since beginning April 2008 • “condition of use” form must be signed -> H. Vedel

  15. EUMETNET Radiosonde Data / swisstopo GNSS data • 11 collected radiosonde sites with GNSS sites processed by swisstopo GNSS site RS site

  16. Comparisons (ZIMM, PAYE)

  17. EUMETNET Radiosonde Data / GNSS data • Paper of first tests at EUREF symposium in Brussels, June 2008: E. Pottiaux, W. Söhne, E. Brockmann • In future: met data, eventually NWP (not part of MoU)
