Guwahati: A group of dacoits posing as policeman robbed a trader in western Assamu2019s Basugaon town in Chirang district on Thursday night.<br>Interestingly, the dacoits took away some 100 sacks of areca nuts worth Rs 50 lakh besides some other cash.<br>According to police, a group of some five to six persons entered the house of one Kanhaiyalal Sethia on Thursday night.

Dacoits Posing As Police Robbed One Of Areca Nuts In Assam Guwahati: A group of dacoits posing as policeman robbed a trader in western Assam’s Basugaon town in Chirang district on Thursday night. Interestingly, the dacoits took away some 100 sacks of areca nuts worth Rs 50 lakh besides some other cash. According to police, a group of some five to six persons entered the house of one Kanhaiyalal Sethia on Thursday night. “As per the victim, the group lied themselves as policemen and after entering his house they tied him up and took away some cash and around 100 sacks of areca nuts,” said Basugaon police. Preliminary probe also revealed that the group of dacoits has covered the CCTVs installed in his house and also took away the CCTV date storage.
