  5. Merts Special Education Personnel • Special education personnel were moved from the Annie Merts building to a hub for the schools that they serve • This does a few things: • Eliminates the driving time from the Merts Center, and therefore reduces the mileage expenses incurred by the individual and the district • Establishes more time for interaction with students and educators • Provides more personnel in the schools to help manage and mitigate problems

Interpreting the Data • The data tells us that there is a large variance between the educational costs of students. • That means the district must: • Ensure that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) are followed with the intent set forth • Free and Appropriate Public Education • Educational needs are met in the Least Restrictive Environment • Ensure that services are allocated and provided based on legitimate needs as determined by the IEP team • Establish the proper protocols to ensure that the IEP process is equitable across the district
