  2. Southeast Asia (SEA) has emerged since the last decades of the 20th century as an important player in the global arena and has done remarkably well in both economic growth and poverty reduction

  3. Vietnam is the land of Agricultural Research for development (ARD).

  6. Cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary in Agricultural Research for development (ARD).

  7. KATKI GENEBANK, one of the principal basic of the Hungarian – SEA collabaration. Initiated by:1-the Institute for Small Animals Research (KÁTKI, Godollo),2-and the Association of Hungarian Small Animal Breeders for Gene Conservation (MGE, Godollo) the Vietnamese-Hungarian collaboration was continued in Animal Rresearch and production by organizing conferences on the Sustainable Agricultural Development and Integrated Farming Systems

  8. 1998: 1st Viet-Hung workshop on Small Anim.Res., Sust. Agric.Dev. in intergrated Farming systems, Thu Duc University, Hochiminh City • 2003: 3rd Viet-Hung workshop on Domestic Animal Production and Aquaculture (NIAH- Hanoi) • 2007: 5th Vietnamese – Hungarian International Conference on Animal Production and Aquaculture for Sustainable Farming and Hungarian – Vietnamese MGE NEFE Project Major Conference (CTU, Can Tho) • The 2nd (2001), 4nd (2005), 6th (2009) Hungarian –Vietnamese Conference were held in Hungary Directors of the collaboration Szalay István President (MGE) Director (KÁTKI) Kisné Do thi Dong Xuan Senior Researcher (KÁTKI) Int.coordinator (MGE)

  9. In 2002: Thuy Phuong Poultry Research Center (POREC-Hanoi) imported Hungarian HU-BA guinea fowl lines from KÁTKI. –

  10. HUNGARIAN BRONZE TURKEY HUNGARIAN COPPER TURKEY In 2006-2007: HU-BA turkeys sent from the KÁTKI, Godollo Gene Bank of old Hungarian poultry breeds to Vietnam for adaptation experiments were studied.

  14. 2009 – 2010: MGE Co-direction in Development project in Poultry Breeding on a trilateral basis: Vietnam-Laos-Hungary. (Tied Aid project: “Mutual aid in Lao-Hungarian Livestock and Aquaculture). Expansion of HU-BA Turkey in Laos (from Vietnam).
