  1. Teen Alcohol Abuse Jake R. Simpson Amy Smith

  2. ??? Why ??? Why?Why do teens feel the need to drink alcohol? Why can’t teens have fun without wanting to drink alcohol? Is it because some kids want to fit in or not be left out?Or maybe its that some teens believe they are old enough. These questions are asked around the world, yet no one can answer them. Everyday and night young Americans are killed by alcohol. It went from taking a sip with your parents to swallowing a keg full of alcohol at once!

  3. Statistics! Statistics say that everyday over 11,000 teenagers try alcohol for the first time! Over 12 million teens ranging from the age of 13 to 14 are alcoholics in the U.S. In other words, today’s 11,ooo teenagers who will try alcohol for the first time will most likely be part of the 13 to 14 million diagnosed as alcoholics tomorrow. STATISTICS DON’T LIE

  4. Statistics Have you ever received a phone call in the middle of the night explaining how a friend was just killed in a car crash? Most likely sometime in our lives this will happen. The reasons why are because in America, every weekend at 10 o’clock P.M. one in every 10 teenage drivers will be drunk driving! Kids across the world that believe they are tough enough to man the roads after drinking are ending their lives and others.

  5. True Life Scenarios Susan Haskins. A loving enthusiastic student of USM. Susan died at the age of 20 while riding in a truck with two guys also under the influence. They were on their way to pick up a friend, when knowing that they had a lot to drink all ready they took the chance, but unfortunately didn’t make it. On the way they were crossing an old, rusted down bridge when the truck curved into the side rails and descended into the water. The two guys were able to bail out in the midst of the crash, but Susan was unable to. During the crash she was thrown into the walls of the truck which caused her neck to break, killing her on impact.

  6. Continued… This wreck set an example for many teenagers across Mississippi. What upsets those who knew her is that a few years ago Susan’s brother Carr was killed at the age of 19 when running off of a bridge and died by drowning as he was stuck inside and unable to escape. This is an example of how people think that nothing can happen to them, even though the risk may be very high!

  7. Facts!

  8. !Enforcements! Police across the nation are spending every ounce of time and strength that they have to stop drunk drivers, although knowing that these officials can not fight it alone other organizations help to fight drunk driving by fundraisers and campaigns to help law enforcement. Organizations such as; MADD, IDDPO, and Stop DUI. These are just three out of a million different DUI prevention organizations and agencies.

  9. What can be done? What else can be done? Out of all of the organizations and agencies in America, drunk driving still carries on. Police are practically handing DUI’s out by the hundreds every day. Will it stay like this forever? Will it get worse? All of these questions are asked daily, and no one can even try to answer them.

  10. “What If” My thoughts about the issue of drunk driving is that Americans need to step up and be proud to be called an American. People across the globe fight everyday to live in our country, yet we take advantage of things like alcohol and destroy our lives. Before you begin to drink and know that you’ll have to end up driving, think about what if there is a family that was just granted permission to live in the states.

  11. Continued… They are happy, and proud to be where they are. But, your both on the road and your coming from a party where you’ve been drinking. The next thing that you can remember is being in the hospital, and being told that you’ve killed a family that was just granted a better life in the U.S. These type of problems occur all over the nation everyday. (Think before you drive, getting yelled at for drinking is better than being told that you’ve just killed someone for drunk driving!)

  12. What will happen If these incidents carry on, law enforcement will have no choice but to take alcohol off of the market in America. I think that I speak for everyone when I request that you just say NO to drinking and driving.
