  1. Ms. Hillis’ Classroom News January 21– January 24, 2014 Dear Parents, I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and had a chance to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr! Please remember to sign and return student report cards as soon as possible if you have not done so already. Also, please sign and return your child’s permission slip for our class field trip. Have a great rest of the week!  Thanks! Ms. Hillis 395-3353 ashley.hillis@sccpss.com • Items We Need In The Classroom • Dry Erase Markers • Kleenex • #2 Pencils • Copy paper • Regular Lined Paper • Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer • News and Events • In support of our local American Red Cross, WFES students and staff will have a “One Dollar for Disasters Day”.    Students and staff can donate $1 to dress down on January 31st. • We are having a Scholastic Book Fair Monday, February 3rd through Friday, February 7th !  We’ll set up Monday morning and be open for business at noon that day. I’ll open at 7:30 Wednesday morning so parents can f come shop as they drop their children off. • We’ll close at 3:00 Friday. More info soon! • Collect Your Box Tops for Our Class!!! • Please help our school earn money by collecting Campbell’s Labels for Education and • Box Tops for Education. • Calendar Reminders • February 4th- Field Trip to Jepson Center (more info to come  This Week’s Lunch Menu Monday – No School! Tuesday – Turkey & Cheese Wrap or Hot Dog Wednesday – Egg Roll or Ham & Bean Soup Thursday – Chicken Nuggets or Tuna Salad Friday – Hot Ham & Cheese or BBQ chicken drumstick News and Events Parents, please take the Georgia Parent Survey developed by the Georgia Department of Education.  Your feedback will be used to calculate our overall school rating at the end of the year.  We need your feedback to show us how you feel we are doing as a school.  The window is open now through January 31.  http://admin.doe.k12.ga/gadoe/sla/gaparents.nsf/Survey.xsp Sand Gnats Game Students can earn a free ticket to the Sand Gnats game on Saturday, May 17th, by reading 10 books between today and f Friday, April 25th! Only books read between January 13th d d and April 25th can be logged. Also, required reading cannot be included.
