  2. What is an Age Friendly Home? • An age friendly home is easy to move around in and easy to use • No matter what your age or ability, an age friendly home can adapt • It is different to the Home And Community Care (HACC) program

  3. How did the idea develop? • The Age Friendly Communities project highlighted that people want to stay in their own homes • The Disability Services Commission recently developed the Liveable Homes resource

  4. Partnered with the Sustainable Mandurah Home to provide images and a real life example incorporating universal design • 18 Grandmere Parade Meadow Springs Mandurah WA 6210

  5. How to use the kit? • There will be a series of checklists that can guide a person through their home • The checklists are used to assess each area to consider current and future needs • Suggestions are flexible • A webpage is being developed alongside the printed resource • www.communities.wa.gov.au

  6. Watch this space! • The Minister for Seniors and Volunteering, Hon Robyn McSweeney MLC, will officially launch the kit • Please sign the Register of Interest to have a copy (or copies) sent to you once it is ready
