Advantages of blended majors' achievement, teaching performance and attitude towards e-learning and teaching learning

  • provides more guidance to online learning by integrating face-to-face learning with distance learning, while it provides flexibility and accessibility to traditional learning by incorporating online learning.

  • extends teaching and learning beyond the classroom walls, developing critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, and global awareness.

  • gives students a variety of ways to demonstrate their knowledge while appealing to diverse learning styles and fosters independent learning and self-directed learning skills in students, a critical capacity for lifelong learners.

  • Taught using the blended learning model.

  • The Blackboard 9.1 Learning Management System (LMS) was used.

  • Twenty five percent of the lectures were taught online using Elluminate Live virtual classroom.

Results of the study
Results of the study majors' achievement, teaching performance and attitude towards e-learning and teaching

  • There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group at the 0.01 level in favor of the experimental group in achievement in the “Methods of Teaching English” Course.

  • There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group and the control group at the 0.01 level in favor of the experimental group in the student teachers’ teaching performance.

  • However, no significant differences were found between the two groups in their attitude towards the teaching profession or the attitude towards E-learning.
