  5. A Prologue is given at the beginning of an Act or Play in order to set the scene for the audience and explain what is going to happen during the rest of the play. It is usually used to capture the attention of the reader.  Step 1: Read through the Prologue one time through. Step 2: UNDERLINE any words that you consider important to the Prologue.
