Project Name / Description: Logos Hope Book Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy Logos Hope, a floating library, recently made a port of call at the City of San Fernando harbour to invite local citizens onboard. With the help of Mr. Guillermo Suco, the GBA Foundation donated an entire volume of Encyclopedia Britannicas for the Basic Education and Literacy program of RCSFLU. Project Name / Description: Brigada Eskwela Category: Basic Education & Literacy RCSFU’s IP Edgee Zarzadias donating several gallons of paint to the principal of Ilocanos ES as part of the DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela program. Venue: Ilocanos Elementary School, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: Ilcanos Elementary School Status: In Progress

Project Name / Description: Filipinas Heritage Library Book Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy The Ayala Foundation, through the Filipinas Heritage Library, with the help of Mrs. Susan Yupangco, made a generous donation an entire volume set of art books for RCSFLU for their Basic Education and Literacy program. Venue: Makati City, Ayala Foundation, Filipinas Heritage Library, Metro Manila Beneficiaries: RCC’s of RCSFLU Status: Completed

  5. Project Name / Description: Adarna House Book Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy Pres. Edgee recently made a personal visit to the Adarna Publishing House to receive the book donations, for the Basic Education and Literacy programs RCSFLU is pushing through for this year. Venue: Quezon City, Adarna Publishing House, Metro Manila Beneficiaries: RCC’s of RCSFLU Status: Completed

  6. Project Name / Description: Gabi ng Pasasalamat Category: Economic & Community Development Pres. Ed Regala went over the year’s accomplishments with the RCSFLU by presenting the decorations garnered by the club. He also, along with incoming Pres. Edgee Zarsadias presented awards and tokens of appreciation to club members during the “Gabi ng Pasasalamat”. Project Name / Description: Joint Tree Planting w/ Cluster 1B and 1C w/ DG Linda Winter Category: Economic & Community Development RCSFLU Inc. along with DG Linda Winter, Cluster 1B and 1C plant trees in Pugo, La Union near the gigantic Rotary Wheel, to spell an example as this year’s Nature lover’s! Plant a tree, save the environment. Venue: Pugo, La Union Beneficiaries: Pugo, La Union Status: Completed

  8. Project Name / Description: Baraoas RCC - Project Category: Economic & Community Development IPP Ed Regala and Pres. Edgee Zarsadias with his Board of Directors visit Baraoas, a Barangay of the City of San Fernando, and an RCC of RCSFLU to see the renovations, construction, and ongoing projects. Venue: Barangay Baraoas, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: RCC Baraoas of RCSFLU Status: In Progress

Project Name / Description: Bangbangolan RCC - Project Category: Water & Sanitation As part of the Water and Sanitation objective of Rotary International, RCSFLU visits and inspects one of the water projects at Banbangolan RCC, to see if they need additional funds and resources to bring water alternative sources to the masses. Venue: Barangay Bangbangolan, City of San Fernando, la Union Beneficiaries: RCC Bangbangolan of RCSFLU Status: In Progress

Project Name / Description: Water Septage Project Category: Water & Sanitation RCSFLU visits the City Water Septage Project, and relives some memories as they tour the facilities, and inspect the premises. Venue: Barangay Dalangayan, City of San Fernando, La union Beneficiaries: City of San Fernando Status: Completed

Project Name / Description: SF City Jail - Project Category: Peace & Conflict Prevention / Resolution RCSFLU visits the City of San Fernando Jail to oversee a continuing project of rehabilitation and reintegration back into society, for those who have broken the law as part of the Peace and Conflict Prevention / Resolution Program. Venue: City Jail and Corrections Facility, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: City of San Fernando Status: In Progress

  12. Project Name / Description: Lunch Meeting of RCSFLU at the Nipa Hut Category: Economic & Community Development Eat eat eat! Meet meet meet! RCSFLU have a luncheon meeting at the Nipa Hut, and discuss preparations for this year’s Induction Ceremony, and future projects. Venue: Barangay Nagituban, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: N/A Status: Completed

Project Name / Description: La Union National High School - Project Category: Basic Education & Literacy La Union National High School, one of the oldest schools in the City of San Fernando, is visited by RCSFLU to see the ongoing projects as one of their Basic Education and Literacy programs. Venue: La Union National High School, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: La Union National High School Status: In Progress

  14. Project Name / Description: Gov. Linda 2nd Leg Golf Tour Category: District Project The tournament was held at The Cliffs Golf Club, at Thunderbird Resort Hotel on June 21, 2013 with the participation of several major sponsors, guests, and delegates in attendance. DG Linda was the first to tee off along with PP Albert Dy, and Pres. Edgee Zarsadias with his board of directors of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. Some of the delegates of the event included Governor Manuel C. Ortega, and Honorable Pepe Ortega, Honorable Martin De Guzman, and guests. Some of the PDG’s from various districts were present during the event and also played a little golf. All in all, it was a fun filled prelude to the birthday of DG Linda Winter.   15. Project Name / Description: Trisem 2013 Category: District Project This year’s Rotary Trisem, hosted by the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. conducted at Oasis Country Resort in the City of San Fernando was a resounding success with many rotary clubs attending. With guest speakers like PDG Mac Hermoso, PDG Vit Gutierrez, PDG Jess Cifra, PDG Ernie Choa, PDG Jun Farcon, PDG Tato Dimayuga, PDG Mon Dacayo, PDG Jess Nicdao, pp Cres Fernandez, PP Harold Dacumos, PP Nasser Pangalinan, PP Raymond Ciriarco, and PP Mike Makatangay. The event, with all the attendees was a moment of great success for Chairman JB Bolong III, with the support of Pres. Edgee Zarsadias and the Board of Directors of the club. Project Name / Description: Ilocanos Elementary School - Big Heart Foundation Category: Basic Education & Literacy The RCSFLU recently made a donation, with the kindness of the Big Heart Foundation, to the Ilocanos Elementary School in the form of a book bag filled with school supplies together with the RC Manila Centennial. Venue: Ilocanos Elementary School, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: Ilocanos Elementary School Status: Completed

  17. Project Name / Description:55th RCSFLU Inc. Induction Ceremonies Category: Economic & Community Development The Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. came together, at Hotel Ariana, to celebrate and announce the new officers for the RI year 2013-2014, led by Pres. Edgee Zarsadias and his Board. Browse the pictures and see the smiles and happy faces for the night's event.   19. Project Name / Description: LUNHS - Teacher’s Table & Chair Donations Category: Basic Education & Literacy Through the kindness of Congressman Victor F. Ortega, RCSFLU donated 30 teacher’s tables and chairs to LUNHS, and along the way, got some exercise by helping out the lifters unload the truck. Venue: La Union National High School, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: La Union National High School Status: Completed

  20. Project Name / Description: Lingsat Community School - Teacher’s Table & Chair Donations Category: Basic Education & Literacy RCSFLU, with Pres. Edgee Zarsadias and IPP Ed Regala and members of the club, through the kindness of Congressman Victor F. Ortega, donated 30 chairs and 30 desks for the teachers of Lingsat Community School. Venue: Lingsat Community School, Barangay Lingsat, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: Lingsat Community School Status: Completed

Project Name / Description: 1000 steps for 1000 trees @ San Juan Dinanum w/ UCC Rotaracts Category: Economic & Community Development RCSFLU Inc. along with DG Linda Winter, Cluster 1B and 1C plant trees in Pugo, La Union near the gigantic Rotary Wheel, to spell an example as this year’s Nature lover’s!   22. Project Name / Description: Gov. MCO PPP Public Private Program Category: Economic & Community Development The Office of the Governor recently conducted a reorganisation of the Profincial federation of NGOs, POs or the Civil Society of Organizations operating within the Province of La Union. In attendance were members of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. along with Pres.   23. Project Name / Description: DMMMSU Interact visit Category: Basic Education & Literacy Pres. Edgee Zarsadias and PP Ming Yan Jao made a house visit to the Interact Club of DMMMSU to ask the students their needs and other concerns. Pres. Edgee and PP Ming also gave out some advice to the students regarding the Interact Club of DMMMSU. Venue: Don Mariano Marcos Memorial University Beneficiaries: DMMMSU Status: Completed

  24. Project Name / Description: Legleg Elementary School - (2) Computer Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy It’s always heart warming to see children smile, and that was the goal of Pres. Edgee, along with RTN Romeo Delfinado and RTN Hermie Velasco who went to Legleg Elementary School on behalf of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. to donate computer units and accessories, in partnership with the Office of the Congressman, Congressman Victor F. Ortega, in order to enhance the experience of these children. The school, located in the municipality of San Juan, gladly accepted the donation with the help of Teacher in Charge Leonida Dacanay. Project Name / Description: Nadsaag Elementary School - (2) Computer Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy With the help of the Rotary Club of San Fernando (LU) Inc. a donation of computer units and accessories, in partnership with the Office of the Congressman, Congressman Victor F. Ortega, was recently made, with Pres. Edgee and RTN Romeo Delfinado and RTN Hermie Velasco present. The teachers and Principal Fely Juana D. Bacani were present to accept the donation. Project Name / Description: Doc Hermie Velasco Teenage Pregnancy Talk UCC Category: Basic Education & Literacy / Maternal & Child Health Doc Hermie Velasco, a fellow Rotarian of RCSFLU, gives a talk on teen pregnancy, and the ways to prevent it to a group of teenagers at Union Christian College in the City of San Fernando, with members of RCSFLU present to cheer him on.   28. Project Name / Description: DMMMSU Grade School (6) Computer Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy President Edgee Zarsadias and members of the RCSFLU Inc. went to the DMMMSU Grade school for a little visit, to see the children in their areas, what their needs are, and what more the RCSFLU Inc. can do for them now and well into the future. During their visit, they donated computer equipment, in partnership with the Office of the Congressman, Congressman Victor F. Ortega, and computer accessories to the grade school, to help further their education. Venue: DMMMSU Grade School, City of San Fernando, La Union Beneficiaries: DMMMSU Grade School Status: Completed

Project Name / Description: Pugudpud Elementary School (2) Computer Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy President Edgee Zarsadias and members of the RCSFLU Inc., in partnership with the Office of the Congressman, Congressman Victor F. Ortega, donate computer units and computer accessories to Pagudpud Elementary School.   30. Project Name / Description: San Fernando South Central Integrated School (20) Computer Donation Category: Basic Education & Literacy The RCSFLU Inc. members with Pres. Edgee Zarsadias, IPP Ed Regala PN Mark Singh, in partnership with the Office of the Congressman, Congressman Victor F. Ortega, make a computer unit and accessories donation to the San Fernando South Central Integrated School to further their educational needs and give them to learn more about the world through electronic means.   31. Project Name / Description: CURE (Childern Understand, Respect the Environment) Category: Water & Sanitation / Basic Education & Literacy Pres. Edgee Zarsadias, along with Former City Mayor of San Fernando / Past President of the Inner Wheel Club Mary Jane Ortega, Laura Riavitz, Inner Wheel Pres. Hailey Delfinado, PP Jun Tio, Dir. Arnel Chanpingco, Rtn. Romeo Delfinado, and Rtn. Peter Nang went to the beach and learned a great deal more about Marine Ecology / Biology and the Environment from Laura Riavitz with her band of kids from some of the local Public School of SFCLU.
