What did you learn about bullying?

The first week of school we discussed bullying; its effects, causes, and solutions

The novel you will be reading is called The Bully


  • Born in 1972 in Philadelphia

  • Worked in a variety of jobs including:

    • Shoe salesman

    • Landscaper at a mental institution

  • Enrolled in Camden County College and transferred to La Salle University where he received his degree in English

Meet the author…. Paul Langan


  • During college, he traveled to his room mate’s home in Kenya and became a prison tutor

  • Became assistant editor at Townsend Press after graduation

  • Contributed to a number of textbooks

  • Taught an English course in college

  • A collection of 18 novels based on the lives of high school students and their families

  • Bluford High is named after Guion Bluford, the first African American astronaut
