Spread across 13000 acres of beautiful countryside that stretches across Northamptonshire into other neighbouring counties, the estate has been the ancestral home of the Spencer Family for 19 generations! Doesn’t that sound interesting and surprising? Althorpe Estate is the home of Earl Spencer, brother of the late People’s Princess Diana. The estate comprises of farms, cottages, woodlands and villages, everything set within the scintillating countryside. Do You Know Facts: Darlington Hall, a stunning stately home that is owned by the Spencer family, has the current market price of £925,000. However, if you do not have such a huge amount with you to buy that, you can still take pleasure in the grandeur of the Althorpe Estate. Numerous tourists and visitors take tours around the grounds regularly. During the COVID19 pandemic situation the estate was forced to close to the public. However, the grounds have been re-opened now and they are just perfect if you wish to experience and breathe in fresh air.

One of the Althorpe Estate Officials has said: “We are delighted to announce Althorp will open the grounds to visitors for the month of August. Visitors are invited to enjoy a picnic on the lawns and spot the rare black fallow deer, a simply glorious spot to spend the day being inspired.” Althorpe Estate will be opening the grounds on a one-way walking system in order to maintain social distancing and minimise the risk to all visitors and staff. Can you visit the grave of Diana? No you aren’t allowed. The final resting place of Princess Diana is on an island that is surrounded by a lake at Althorpe.
