The IAEA, in its verification, shall take due account of the technical effectiveness of the state’s system.
The IAEA, shall make full use of the state’s system of accounting for and control of all nuclear material subject to safeguards under the Agreement, and shall avoid unnecessary duplication of the state’s accounting and control activities.
Potential area for cooperation
To avoid duplication of efforts, both Parties agree to cooperate in the identification of specific safeguards-relevant activities which can be implemented by the SSAC without compromising the Agency’s ability to draw independent conclusions. This may include the SSAC conduct of inspection activities as prescribed by the Agency. The Agency selection of SSAC activities will be based on the Agency’s safeguards objectives and SSAC capabilities
