  3. Interpretation • User = employee • Operator = self employed person • DSE = any alphanumeric or graphic display screen equipment

  4. Analysis of Workstations • Users or Operators • Review when no longer valid or significant changes • Reduce risks to lowest level sfairp • Carried out by competent person

  5. Requirements for Workstations • Meet the requirements in Schedule 1: • Lighting • Screen • Noise • Leg room • Windows blinds • Software • Chair • Etc

  6. Daily Work Routine of Users • Plan activities to include regular breaks • Away from screen • Short, infrequent breaks • Where possible, users should have discretion over how they carry out tasks/routine

  7. Eyes & Eyesight • Eye tests for users when requested • Eye tests carried out by competent person • Where eye problems are identified in relation to DSE, employer shall provide corrective lenses

  8. Training • Employers should provide h&s training in in use of workstations to users/operators • Training should be updated when workstation is substantially modified

  9. Information • Provide information to users/operators on: • H&S relating to their workstations • Measures taken under Regs 2 & 3 (Analysis and Requirements of Workstations) • Measures taken under Regs 4 & 6(2) (Work routines & training) • Measures taken under Reg 5 (Eye tests)
