  3. PREPARATION • Establish contact • Seek information about the event • Read information received carefully • Apply for visa if necessary • Read the FITA Judge Guide Book • Read the latest interpretations and bylaws • Read the Rules • Bring your judge equipment and uniform

  4. BEFORE COMPETITION • Confirm your arrival to your chairman • Accreditation • Be at the scheduled meetings on time • Be focused and alert at the meetings • Be involved in subjects and topics • Any difficulties? Ask…..

BEFORE COMPETITION • Judging tasks • Checking the field layout and safety • Checking distances • Checking lines and shooting positions • Checking target faces and their setup • Checking the target butts • Checking the shooting signals and equipment • Checking the uniforms • Checking the archer’s equipment

  6. DURING COMPETITION • Check safety • Assist on arrow calls • Deal with bouncers • Deal with shoot-throughs • Deal with late shots • Deal with scorecard mistakes • Check equipment • Deal with shoot-offs • Deal with number of officials on the field

  7. DURING COMPETITION CONTINUES • Check the timing (sound and visual aids) • Check the height of telescopes • Check the archer’s position on the line • Check the markings of arrow holes • Deal with equipment failures • Deal with medical incidents on the line • React on rule violations in the Team Event

  8. AFTER COMPETITION • Present every day’s notes in the meeting • Discuss specialities that have arisen • Prepare for to-morrow • Reply to Chairman’s report • Learn from your experience at the event
