Amigos en CristoMission Moment Script www.amigoscenter.org, (239) 437-6727, By Rev. Robert Selle
Good Morning and thanks for letting me tell you a little about Amigos en Cristo. Many of you are already followers and financial supports so please bear with me as I repeat the Amigos story with those not familiar with our work. (If desired, you can show the Amigos Center video)
Who we are
Amigos en Cristo (Friends in Christ) is a ministry of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod churches of Southwest Florida.
We provide spiritual, social and legal services to immigrants of our region. Under the direction of Rev. Robert Selle,
Amigos en Cristo has helped thousands of immigrants to a better life since its founding in 1997. We have a staff of three
full-time, seven part-time and many volunteers who provide a living witness to the love of God in Jesus Christ to the
immigrants of Southwest Florida.
Our ultimate desire is to see all people recognize Jesus as their Lord and Savior and to connect to a community of believers
so they can grow in their relationship with Him. Our church plants include Bonita Springs and Immokalee where we
worship in Spanish and Haitian Creole. We are blessed to have established our first Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod
chartered congregation: Bethlehem Haitian Church – LCMS. On August 18, 2013 we ordained and installed Rev. Andre
Mezilus as pastor of Bethlehem Haitian Church in the farm worker community of Immokalee.
Through our Amigos Center, we provide low-cost services for immigrants seeking citizenship, temporary protected status, residency, work authorizations, visas for spouse & minor children of legal residents, visas for victims of crime, fiancé visas, and general consultations. During 2013 we served over 1,700 distinct immigration clients and their families.
Our Amigos Center offers essential social services that show genuine care, develop relationships and build trust. We publish a Spanish language information guide for newcomers, provide humanitarian aid, emergency food, English classes and much more.
So thanks for listening, please pray for Amigos en Cristo to be able to grow and help more of God’s people;
Consider giving a financial donation; and
Volunteer with us, we need your help.
You are invited
You are also invited to attend our annual fundraising luncheon on Wednesday, March 19 at 12 noon. It will be held at the Spanish Wells Country Club, Bonita Springs. Thank you.
