  2. In Panama is where the Panama canal was born.

  3. North Pacific Ocean There is more than a few island s. Their is some islands that are vey poor. For example Haiti is still recovering from a very very large Earthquake.

  4. The Panama Canal. Theodore Roosevelt Theodore Roosevelt acquired land to have the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal opened on August 15, 1914. The canal is 40 miles !!!

  5. Theodore Roosevelt As a strong supporter of the environment, he set aside more land for the National Parks system and created the Forest Service to oversee it.

  6. Live Cameras Live cameras are used to keep people safe and the workers. This picture is very recent. It has a lot of cargo and something could happen this is why it has live cameras.

  7. Visiting the canal. Discover new experiences at the Panama Canal at the Expansion Observation Center, located in the Atlantic side of the Panama Canal. 50 meters above the Panama Canal,visitors can enjoy different views of the waterway.

  8. Theodore Roosevelt and the Panama canal. On February 1, 1881 driven by patriotic fervor and capitalized by over 100,000 mostly small investors, the French began work on a canal that would cross the Colombian isthmus of Panama and bring together the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Ferdinand de Lesseps, builder of the Suez Canal, led the project. De Lesseps estimated that the job would cost about $132 million, and take 12 years to completely.
