  11. What makes a “good” question? • Pick a Topic that YOU are interested in! • Do Preliminary Research • Not too broad • “What is the relationship between economic development and population?” • Why do Sichuanese eat spicy food? • Not too personal/narrow • “Why does my dad’s feet smell so bad

  12. What makes a “good” question?+Some things to consider • 1) Is the research question something I/others care about? Is it arguable? • 2) Is the research question a new spin on an old idea, or does it solve a problem? • 3) Is it too broad or too narrow? • 4) Is the research question researchable within the given time frame and location? • 5) What information is needed?

(The question can be answered in one word) 3. What are some of the environmental factors in Shanghai between September and October 2014 that would cause chickens to cross 大学路? (The question takes some real thinking and research!)
