Research Paper Background • This is a LANGUAGE ARTS assignment! • Social Studies teachers are helping with topic selection and can help with research • You will be selecting a topic in history between 1900-1999 that relates to the United States • Must have a cause and effect relationship • Bad example: Abraham Lincoln was an awesome guy who did a lot of things for America • Good Example: Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation changed race relations in America
