  1. InfluenzaDon’t get it. Don’t give it. If you are new to New Zealand you are probably settling in to a job or school, a new home and lifestyle, and the last thing you need is to be ill with influenza or “flu”. You can save yourself and those you love from the miseries of influenza this winter by having a flu vaccine. You may even qualify for free influenza vaccination. If you are registered with a medical practice ask them whether you qualify for free vaccination, and book an appointment. If you’re not eligible for free vaccination you can get one from a doctor, nurse or some pharmacies for a small charge.

  2. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO TO KEEP YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY SAFE FRO INFLUENZA? • Wash and dry your hands often • Stay away from people who are sick • Stay away from work or school if you’re unwell • Stay away from young children, elderly and those with significant medical conditions if you’re unwell • Cover your coughs and sneezes
