  1. Fall 2014 Open HouseWelcome to Drama! • Introduction to Drama IA/B: general drama. A great start for everything to follow! All ages & abilities mixed together. • Advanced classes this year: • ACTING III (Fall only): All kinds of acting • Fundamentals II (Spring only): Children's’ theatre, all aspects • Theatre Technology (fall and spring): building, using, and repairing equipment & designs for upcoming shows.

  2. Review & preview! • Check out the 2014 Awards & photos on the Fine Arts board. • Also, textbooks are available for browsing. • The syllabus will be available when we have all the info!

  3. About Me • BA cum laude in Theatre, University of Virginia at Wise • MA summa cum laude in Education, Central Michigan University • This will be my 21st year at SCHS! • Sponsor of International Thespian Society & director of many extracurricular productions.

  4. Get ready! • It’s a fresh year and we’re looking for fresh ideas through collaboration! • Please be sure you know how to use Infinite Campus!

  5. Class requirements • I have no special material requirements, just a calendar/Agenda, paper, and pen/pencil. Any color is fine. • Students will be required to check Infinite Campus at specific times.

  6. Upcoming events • Fri Sep 19: SCHS Chorus Talent Show • Fri/Sat Oct 3 & 4 One Act Play Performances. Auditions VERY soon, rehearsals in August & September • Oct tba: Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat (canned food) • Thu Oct 30 Musical Fundraiser performance. Original work, rehearsals Sep-Oct. • Oct tba: Regional One Act Play competition; no further info available at this time. • Fri Feb 20: Black History Month Assembly • Sat Mar 21 : Feeder Chain Prism Concert: a fundraiser for Patriot Hall equipment. More info later. • Fri-Sat Apr 24-5: Broadway musical. Auditions and rehearsals begin this fall. • Fri-Sat May 8-9 Chorus Spring Show

  7. Volunteers needed • Chaperones/Transportation/Food for activities & possible field trips (during, after school hours) • Business/organization : Concessions, photography, programs, publicity, laundry, meal management • Technical: Costumes, sets, props, lights, sound. • Fundraising: ticket sales, donations

  8. Donations of these general classroom supplies are a big help, but not required.
