  3. What is ‘Homecare’ • The provision of medical supplies and/or clinical services to patients in the community.

  4. Objectives of the Association • To establish a trade group with a credible reputation • To provide a forum for lobbying on issues that affect homecare • To set and debate policy decisions with the National Homecare Medicine Supply Committee and other relevant government bodies • To provide a forum where a trade position can be provided on Government papers and policy review

  9. Qualifications for Membership

  10. Qualification for Membership • Objective is to ensure all members are qualified to offer their particular range of services

Membership Criteria • Compliance with all relevant statutory requirements required for the services that the organisation provides. • MHRA wholesaler dealer’s licence, where wholesaling is carried out; • MHRA specials manufacturing licence, where aseptic compounding is carried out; • Registration as a Nurses’ Agency with CSCI, if nursing services are provided; • Registration as a Pharmacy with the RPSGB, if medication is dispensed.

  12. Membership Criteria - Obligatory • In addition, all members must have the following: - • Data protection registration • Public liability insurance • A comprehensive internal quality management system

Progress to Date • To establish a trade group with a credible reputation in homecare supply by providing clear standards of membership and setting minimum industry standards. • NCHA established July 2006 • Membership criteria established • Objectives agreed • Website implemented • Legally Constituted • Logo/Letterhead • Article published in the BJHH
