  2. CHRISTMAS HISTORY • Christmas starts a week before Dec.13th when they celebrate St.Lucia day.St.Lucia day is a 400-year old celebration.The original Christmas starts the same day as we do Dec.24th.

  3. DECORATIONS • In Sweden they decorate their tree two days before Christmas.They decorate their trees with candy and candles,they also use handcraft items.

  4. Food • Some Swedish Christmas traditional food is rice porridge with an almond in it,mulled wine,smoked sausage, reindeer meat and Christmas sweets.

  5. TRADITIONS • A week before December 13th all the oldest girls from each family dresses as St.Lucia to continue the 400-year old tradition.Also,on that morning the girl dressing up as St.Lucia serves her parents some gingerbread cookies and mulled wine.Another popular tradition is putting one almond on the rice porridge and the person who finds it gets to make a wish or he/she gets married the following year.
