  1. Dear students, I take this opportunity to welcome you all on behalf of the staff and other stakeholders of this college. I am aware that getting admission into such a college in Delhi University is an achievement and I congratulate all of you for that. I also take this opportunity to inform you that Motilal Nehru College which was established in the year 1964, will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year. As students of this great institution, you will be part of celebrating a wonderful moment in its history while you start and continue your journey for a wholesome and fruitful academic experience under the Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP). Principal Welcome to Motilal Nehru College

  2. The FYUP program was introduced keeping in mind the demands of modern day education. Flexibility in choice and the interdisciplinary nature of subjects to be taught are the key to a modern successful education. Under this programme, students will have to study total 20 major subjects at a deep level for Bachelor with Honours in each course which are called Discipline Courses-I (DC-I).  In the 4 Year Undergraduate Programme, students will be offered 6 minor subjects of their liking for additional knowledge and building their competencies outside their main subjects of study. These subjects are called Discipline Courses-II (DC-II).  You will be studying the Discipline II papers from the 2 year (3rd Semester) Apart from DC-I and DC-II courses, you will also be studying 11 Foundation Courses (FC), 1 Applied Language Course, and another 4 skilled based subjects known as Applied Courses (AC), spread across the semesters. You will also be studying a paper called Integrated Mind Body & Heart (IMBH). This is a practice-oriented programme of study. The course will foster a value system that relies on actions stemming in harmony with an inner value system. This will only be taught in the first Year. The Foundation Courses and the Application Courses are Compulsory in nature and the course on IMBH is a Non-Credit Course. It is important to note that you may also apply for your masters programme based on your choice of the Discipline II (DC-II) subject. The flexible nature of the programme allows the student to exit after the 2nd year with a Diploma, 3rd year with a Bachelor’s degree and finally a Bachelor’s with Honours after 4 years.
