AVID Binder • Students will carry an AVID Binder • 5 color coded folders • Pencil Pouch (pencils, pens, marker) • Green Plastic Home Folder • Loose Leaf Paper • Please DO NOT rearrange or “clean out” your child’s binder • Binder examples can be found in your child’s homeroom • Students will receive a mark if they do not have their materials with them

AVID Planner • Each student is to carry their planner with them and record their homework • Homework is written in black or blue pen • Tests and quizzes should be written in red pen • Please sign off nightly after checking over your child’s homework with them • Notes can also be written from school in the planner, so please check nightly • Planners should NOT be BLANK, students will write NONE if there is no homework that night

Academic and Behavior Expectations • Greenview ABC Checklist • Found in the front of the Green Home folder • Marks are given when the academic and behavior expectations are not met • The card should be signed by a parent or guardian on THURSDAY of each week • Students will earn the right to the Team Party each month by meeting the required number of marks • If a student goes over the number of marks they may earn the right to have a mark taken off by going TWO SCHOOL DAYS without a mark • Students not invited to the party will attend the Reflection Room and compose a letter which will come home to be shared and signed

  7. Homework Policy • 20 mins of reading each night • PLUS: 30-60 minutes in Math, Social Studies, Reading, and Science • Homework will count for 10% of student grade • A mark will be given for late homework and WILL NOT be removed • Students may turn in homework for late credit the next day. Homework will not be accepted more than one day late. • Students who are absent will have the number of days they were absent to make up the work. (2 days out= 2 days to make up work)

  9. Additional Info • Recess/Lunch from 12:20-1:10 • In the FOURTH GRADE cafeteria • Lunch Money Mondays!!! • Specialist Days are set and posted in the classroom • Wednesday Folders will come home with Important School Info.

Additional Information • Cell Phones • Turned OFF and in lockers at 9:00 • Turned ON after exiting the building • Phones out during the school day will be given to the office for PARENT pick-up • Dress Code • See Greenview Handbook • No open shoes, outdoor wear, short skirts • Dress for the season: we WILL go outside!! • Electronic Devices • KEEP THEM AT HOME
