Whole of Australian Government Service Point Strategy A major component of the Australian Government’s future e-strategy is providing citizens with whole of government online service accounts on www.australia.gov.au. These online accounts will offer personalised and seamless access to Government through a single sign-on. Citizens will be able to undertake variety of transactions, interactions and  receive notifications online without the need to deal with agencies independently.

8. ICT Investment Framework What is it? A series of projects and a new process of collaboration across government to improve the return on the government’s investment in ICT It aims to create investments designed to effectively respond to and deliver on the government’s objectives, which are well managed, and can demonstrate they have delivered their anticipated benefits

ICT Investment Framework Desired outcomes: Value for money from the Australian Government’s investment in ICT Strategic alignment of ICT projects and spending Identification of opportunities and risks arising from ICT investment A common process and language for the development and assessment of ICT business cases To assist Australian Government agencies in developing and assessing their ICT investment decisions To assist the Department of Finance and Administration in assessing bids for ICT funding To assist Australian Government agencies in developing and assessing their ICT investment decisions To assist the Department of Finance and Administration in assessing bids for ICT funding

12. ICT Professional and Skills Development Taskforce Work plan: career path development; the use of contract labour; forecasting skill requirements; and working with tertiary institutions to get the right skills for government.

13. What are we trying to achieve? Focus on whole of government: Understand the business, in order to harvest benefits Focus on what is important, even if it is difficult to measure Realise benefits, don’t just produce deliverables Keep it simple, to track progress easily Take up is essential to realising benefits so maintain a user-focus

14. Benefits Realisation Why is benefits realisation needed?
