1. A faculty initiative: establishing AIT-UN Linkages office at AIT • Originated by Prof. Ajit Annachhatre of EEM/SERD, assisted by VP-DR and supported by President • To coordinate and streamline various UN related activities with several UN agencies and bodies – current and future – highlighting linkages and relevance to AIT core business • To identify, negotiate and collaborate with UN agencies for initiating activities of common interests – at the global, regional and local scales • To popularize AIT initiatives with various UN agencies and bodies to flag the image of AIT at the highest level • To be more effective and consolidated in supporting AIT’s National Partners in Asia achieving their National MDG targets and National Development Agenda • To create a systematic working platform for partner countries and various donors in pursuing the common development goals and targets in Asia • To assist AIT Finance office in streamlining financial aspects of the AIT activities relative to UN as a whole • To position AIT as a think tank, communication hub, and implementation arm for various UN agencies and bodies • To monitor the progress and disseminate the information about various UN-related activities at AIT – using mass media and progressive media • Please contact Prof. Ajit and VP-DR for more information and possible participation.
