  2. Academy Mission • Translate research into practice • Create an on-line system for delivering high quality instructional materials • Develop 22 instructional modules in three areas • Deliver instruction using a “just-in-time” model • Provide pre-service and in-service education

  3. Focus Research-based interventions related to improving the performance of all students in three content areas (number of modules): •Positive Behavioral Support (7) •Reading (8) •Technology in Education (7)

  4. Target Audiences • Institutions of Higher Education • Pre-service teacher education programs • Special education & general education • Instructional staff of teacher education programs • Beginning teachers during induction into the profession • In-service teacher education through IHEs

  5. Jurors • Select research-based interventions for translation into instructional modules • Prioritize interventions for module development • Help structure content for instruction through content maps

  6. Writing Teams • Translate research into course content • Write to a design • Work collaboratively with other writers and technical experts

  7. Evaluation • Alpha testing (in-house) • Beta 1 testing (32 IHEs) • Beta 2 testing (one KU class) • Beta 3 testing—“Controlled Implementation” (seven IHEs) • Full implementation
