  1. Homemade cookies are always special. Ideally made to be chewy on the outside and soft on the inside, warm from the oven cookies, have a place in every heart. And when they are made with organic sugar they are lighter on the stomach too. WHY ORGANIC SUGAR? Organic sugar is made from sugarcane grown organically, meaning without the use of any pesticides. Further, it is manufactured without any additives or harsh chemicals. Different from the highly refined white sugar, organic sugar has various nutritional benefits. Containing amino acids, minerals and vitamins, good quality organic sugar is the right choice. Given below are recipes to make cookies at home. Easy and quick, you can add nuts, spices or even sprinkle sea salt, to make these cookies stand out.

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Ingredients: Organic Sugar – 100 grams Butter- 100 grams Egg – 1 (or 2 tbsp. thick curd) Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp Salt – 1/2 tsp Maida – 2 cups Baking powder – 1 tsp Chocolate chips – 1 cup Vinegar or Lime juice – 1/2 tsp Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Sieve the maida, baking powder and salt thrice to make it airy and light. Beat butter and sugar till well combined. Add egg and beat. Add dry ingredients, chocolate chips, vinegar and vanilla essence and mix until just combined. Drop spoonfuls on a lined baking tray leaving a little space between each to rise. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes till the edges are browned. Cool on a wire rack. The cookies can be stored for a week. However, they are best served warm!

HEALTHY OAT COOKIES Ingredients: Organic Sugar – 150 grams Butter- 100 grams Egg – 2 (or 3 tbsp. thick curd) Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp Salt – 1/2 tsp Maida – 1.5 cups Oats – 2 cups Cinnamon – 1 tsp Baking powder – 1 tsp Vinegar or Lime juice – 1/2 tsp Rind of 1 lemon Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C. Sieve the maida, baking powder and salt thrice to make it airy and light. Beat butter and sugar till well combined, then add the eggs and continue beating. Add the dry ingredients, oats, cinnamon powder, vinegar, lemon rind and vanilla essence and mix till just combined. Drop spoonfuls on a lined baking tray leaving a little space between each to rise. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes till the edges are browned. Cool on a wire rack. Eat these cookies warm without guilt.

BEST CHOCOLATE – SEA SALT COOKIES Ingredients: Organic Sugar – 100 grams Butter- 100 grams Egg – 1 ( or 2 tbsp. thick curd) Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp Salt – 1/2 tsp Maida – 2 cups Baking powder – 1 tsp Chocolate – 150 grams roughly chopped Vinegar or Lime juice – 1/2 tsp Rind of 1 lemon Coarse Sea Salt – 1 1/2 tsp Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Sieve the maida, baking powder and salt thrice to make it airy and light. Beat butter and sugar till well combined, then add the egg and continue beating. Add the dry ingredients, chocolate bits, vinegar, lemon rind and vanilla essence and mix till just combined. Drop spoonfuls on a lined baking tray leaving a little space between each to rise. Gently sprinkle sea salt on each cookie. Bake for 8 – 10 minutes till the edges are browned. Cool on a wire rack. Enjoy the unique combination of sugar and the aroma of sea salt.
