  1. “The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, graceaboundedallthemore, so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:20, 21

  2. God’s will in Christ is to be obeyed. • John 14:15, Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 5:9; Romans 1:5; 2:8; 2 Thessalonians 1:8

  3. God’s will in Christ is to be obeyed. • “For this is the love of God, that we keep His command-ments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:3) • “Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me,… For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 1:29, 30)

  4. God’s will in Christ is to be obeyed. • Do we ever view God’s expectations of us and spiritual pursuits as a drudgery? Do we approach faith matters with a do-I-have-to attitude?

  5. Faithful obedience is a grateful response to grace. • “…Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief; and the grace of our Lord was morethanabundant, with the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 1:13, 14) • “Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to bepleasingtoHim.” (2 Corinthians 5:9)

  6. Faithful obedience is a grateful response to grace. • Isaiah’s reaction to seeing Jehovah’s holiness and glory (Isaiah 6:1-4): • Unworthy and unclean (6:5) • God intervened and forgave (6:7) • A cleansed Isaiah: “Here am I. Send me!” (6:8)

  7. Faithful obedience is a grateful response to grace. • If we understand grace forgiving men of their enormous spiritual bankruptcy, we ought to be racing to God’s side to do whatever He says to please Him. • Salvation by grace requires Jesus redeeming and purifying sinners (Titus 2:11-15).

  8. Faithful obedience is a grateful response to grace. • A deep appreciation, respect and love for God moves one to carefully maintain God’s prescribed good works. • How can we truly contemplate God’s grace and not do more to abound as a worker for the Lord?
