  1. How to develop international skills competition activities in printing? Emerging / changing competence requirements and future skills needs (esp. technical skills requirements)? Updating the technical outlines (TO) and technical descriptions (TD)?

  2. ”Phase / work package 1” • Analysis of competences of the Skill Printing, which are essential in vocational skills competitions • The project aims at 1) sharing best practices of former both international and national level skills competetions in participating countries, 2) receiving feedback from partners and collecting of data of each country´s national level, 3) comparing them together, comparing them to the needs of industry in each country and the needs described on the Technical Outline (TO) of EuroSkills competition and the Technical Descriptions (TD) of World Skills competition. • However the main target is analyzing the skills competences which are essential in the Printing vocational skills competitions that are arranged on each partner country´s national level and international level competitions.

  3. ”Phase / Work package 2” • Preparing a new technical outline (and technical description) proposal for printing to be used in EuroSkills (2012 and 2014), WSC (2013) and national competitions. • Creating a training programme / package for international competitions, which will be finalized together with partners according to their skills and educational needs.

  4. ”Phase / Work package 3” • Mutual understanding of requirements of competition tasks, and finalized competition tasks • Task of Printing is made according to the technical outline document (technical description), which is approved by European Skills Promotion Organization ESPO (WSC Organisation).

  5. Project funding possibilities? • Leonardo da Vinci Partnership • Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovations (TOI) • Next application round in February 2010 • The project application (draft version) should be finished by the end of December 2009

  6. Experience in international skills competitions • Jyväskylä College has experience in international skills competitions in the Skill of Printing: • Organising the Skill of Printing Technology in WSC Competition 2005 in Helsinki • Skill Expert of Finland in Printing in EuroSkills 2008 in Rotterdam • Skill Expert of Finland in Printing Technology in Calgary (WSC 2009)
