Carlsbad Caverns

Carlsbad Caverns is a United States National Park located in the Guadalupe Mountains in Southeastern New Mexico.

The primary attraction of the park is the show cave, Carlsbad Caverns.

It was first designated a national monument on October 25, 1923, then a National park on may 14, 1930 then, a world heritage site on December 6, 1995.

  • Area- 7,307 sq miles (189.3 km sq)

  • Management - U.S. National Park Services

  • Score- 28 out of 30

  • Federal- 46,427.26 Acres

  • Non Federal- 339.19 Acres

  • Wilderness- 33,125 acres


History

  • It was made drop by drop 500,000 years ago.

  • Settlers found it years after.

  • Animals:

    • Snakes

    • Bats

    • And other cave animals
