  2. Introduction Message A brand is the summary of everything that an organization is, does and says. The brand of Global Brigades is the result of our appearance of what we are–our identity. As a recognized leader in student-led sustainable health and development, Global Brigades must provide a consistent brand in order to be effectively portrayed as a cohesive organization, whose programs work together towards a holistic mission. To create and maintain a strong brand for Global Brigades, it is important that we deliver our brand consistently. Part of this is maintaining a consistent visual brand across all our communications–providing our audiences with a set of compelling visual associations that communicate our mission quickly and effectively. This Guide to Marketing Kits details the elements of Global Brigades’ brand and includes guidelines for logo usage, as well as an overview of the marketing kits for Brigades’ programs. Should you have any questions about anything in this guide, please contact Vanessa Lopez from the Brigades Marketing Team. We hope the marketing materials and guide will assist you in empowering other passionate volunteers to join the Brigades family and we are always open to any new suggestions or requests for other types of materials that can assist you as well. Sincerely, Brigades Marketing Team

  4. The Global Brigades Logo The Global Brigades Logo and program logos are the core elements of the graphical identity of Global Brigades. The Global Brigades logo should only be used in place of a program logo if the user’s audience is someone who wants information about the entire organization as a whole, rather than a specific program. Otherwise, the appropriate program logo for the audience should be used for all communications. “Global” is always set in a dark grey The globe is always set in light grey “Brigades” is always set in the brigades blue color

  5. The Global Brigades Logo and Programs A Global Brigades logo or program logo should be used on the front of every Brigades publication including newsletters, promotional items, recruiting materials, postcards, brochures, and posters. The logo should appear at the bottom of every piece of material, along with a listing of all the brigade programs, and the main Global Brigades website URL (www.globalbrigades.org) as shown below. FOOTER ON COVER/TITLE PAGE Always list all 9 Brigades programs in alphabetical order, with periods between. The logo should appear on the right side of the program listing. Always list the main Global Brigades website URL rather than program specific websites. Equal spacing on each side of the program listing, between the left edge of the document and the logo on the right.

  6. Document Header and Footer Word Documents and Powerpoints The header of the document should always include a portion of the picture used on the cover page or if no picture was used on the cover, then the standard header shown on this powerpoint should be used. HEADER FOOTER Globe symbol and title always in white, flush with the bottom of the header picture. Global Brigades website on bottom left corner Document title and page number on bottom right corner, separated by “| “ www.globalbrigades.org

  7. The Global Brigades Tagline Global Brigades’ main tagline for all programs is ‘students EMPOWERING communities.” This tagline is often added as an arch over the picture version of the globe or can be used as a stand alone tagline in materials as seen below. When used, the ‘students’ and ‘communities’ words in the tagline should be in lowercase letters, while ‘EMPOWERING’ should be in uppercase letters. The tagline is in picture version over the globe. The tagline can also be used in other materials, such as this banner.

  8. Color Palette The Global Brigades logo is comprised of three parts: the globe, the program name, and ‘Brigades.’ The globe and the program name are always set in one of the three grey tones below to best complement the background that the logo is being placed on, and the ‘brigades’ part of the logo is set in one of the nine program colors below. The globe is set in one of the three greys. RGB Red Green Blue 1 84 166 RGB Red Green Blue 47 47 47 RGB Red Green Blue 167 167 167 RGB Red Green Blue 215 215 215 The program name is also set in one of the three greys to match the color of the globe.
