Farmers and the model b

Farmers and the Model B

  • The price alone was enough for farmers, when most tractors were non-acquirable.

  • Most small farm-owners of 100 acres or more labored the area by manual or animal power without tractors.

  • The horsepower of the Model B was almost half as much as competing tractors, but was enough to get the job done.

  • Simple parts required less skilled fixes for the Model B.

My model b

My Model B

  • 1948 Allis-Chalmers Model B

  • Still works and used as lawn-mower

  • Cuts lawn-mowing time almost in half

  • The beast continues to serve its duty after 60 years!
