14. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING • Developed following the 2012 AGM & signed December 2012 • Objectives: • Formalize the partnership between CANHAVE CANADA and CANHAVE UGANDA • Further strengthen the Children’s Programme in providing the basic literacy skills of reading, writing and arithmetic to primary school children; and • Establish a pathway to financial sustainability of the Vocational School so that it may become financially independent within three years

15. Vocational School • Operational funds of $15, 000/ year • Reduction by $5,000 each year – to $0 • Will not provide operational funds after December 31, 2015 • Will not guarantee any funding for capital works beyond the dormitory

17. Vocational School First Term 2013 – a total of 65 students (13 males and 52 females) registered for 7 of the courses being offered.

18. Vocational School • Current enrolment is 65 students – up from 39 last year • Some courses are offered as short term classes • Tailoring, hairdressing, computer training, electrical wiring, carpentry and agriculture were offered this term

21. Children’s ProgramME • Increase the number sponsored by 10 each year up to a total of 100 in programme • Students progressing well in the basics of reading, writing and arithmetic will be supported up to and including P7

Students leaving P7 will be offered places at the CANHAVE Vocational School for max of 2 years • Students with superior marks will be considered for financial support at the Secondary level • Full-time students entering post-Secondary education will be eligible for CANHAVE CANADA scholarship funds Children’s ProgramME

Next steps for the Board • Work with the Ugandan Children’s Programme Board to monitor progress, to develop criteria and to create a mechanism to track pupils • Continue to develop policies with the Ugandan Board of Trustees as agreed to in the MOU • Focus on governance issues and questions • Expand Canadian fundraising activities

27. Next steps for the Board • Empowering AIDS/HIV orphaned Ugandan girls through quality secondary education • Develop an evaluation design for implementation at the end of the three year agreement period
