  1. James 2:14-17 (NLT) [14] What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? [15] Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, [16] and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? [17] So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

  2. Isaiah 35:3-4 (NLT) [3] With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees. [4] Say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.”

  3. Matthew 7:24-27 (NLT) [24] “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. [25] Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. [26] But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. [27] When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

  6. Beth Sefer Beth Midrash Luke 2:46 (NLT) Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. Luke 2:52 (NLT) Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.

  7. Talmidim

  8. Matthew 7:28-29 (NLT) [28] When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, [29] for he taught with real authority—quite unlike their teachers of religious law.

  9. Mark 1:17a (NLT) Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me…” • John 8:31 (NLT) Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. • John 13:13-15 (NLT) [13] You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. [14] And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. [15] I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. • Luke 14:26 (MSG) "Anyone who comes to me but refuses to let go of father, mother, spouse, children, brothers, sisters—yes, even one's own self!—can't be my disciple.

  11. Matthew 16:24-26 (NLT) [24] Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. [25] If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. [26] And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
