  1. Know all about the basics of Grid Computing in Cloud Computing What is Grid Computing? Grid Computing is a distributed interconnection of multiple workstations or computers connected by an efficient network to accomplish a collaborative task. The purpose of Grid Computing in Cloud Computing is to accomplish such compute-intensive tasks, as they are inconsequential for a single machine handling. In Grid Computing, interconnected computers or workstations work under a common protocol as a single virtual supercomputer to complete complex tasks. You can think of the Grid Computing in Cloud Computing as a powerful virtualization of interconnected computers. A single virtual system is created to grant users as well as web applications access to enormous technical capabilities. What does a Computing Grid Network comprises of? There are two major components of a Computing Grid network, hardware as its physical manifestation, as well as software, as its virtual or computational manifestation. Let us look at them one by one: Hardware: A Grid Computing Network consists of the following parts: Control Node: Also known as the Server, a Control Node is a star server or its group that administers the entire network as well as maintains the resources counts in the network. Grid Node: Also known as theProvider, a grid node is simply a computer that contributes its labor or resources to the overall Network resource pool. User: User here is simply the Computer that uses the network resources to complete the assigned task. Software: Every Grid Computing Network requires specialized software for running operations on every User. The software is tasked with coordinating and managing the assigned tasks. Working of a Grid Computing Network: In a Grid Network, the computational software dissects the main task into subtasks. It then assigns the subtasks to each user, which will be simultaneously working on their assigned subtasks. Upon completion, the software will aggregate the outputs of all User Nodes to accomplish the main task.

  2. The Grid Software establishes strong communications between workstations. Information is also shared among the User Nodes. Consequently, the computers consolidate and deliver a combined outcome for the assigned task. Types of Grid Computing in Cloud Computing You can classify Grid Computing into several types. The classification is based on the grid uses and the nature of assigned tasks. Let us see them one by one. Computational Grid Computing Computational Grids is the most common grid computing type used today, and is expected to stay the same for the coming years. A Computational Grid is effective for tasks taking longer to execute. Here, the main task is split into multiple subtasks which are executed in parallel separate nodes. After completing the subtasks, the results are combined to get the main task’s result. An example of the Computational Grids in real-life scenarios is speeding up the business report generation for a company for an online marketplace. Data Grid Computing In Data Grids Computing, grids split data onto multiple computers to further split computations which enables placing data onto a network interconnection. Here, Data Grid virtually treats unit data as one despite splitting; allowing several users to access, update, or transfer distributed data simultaneously. As an example, a Data Grid can be used as a large data store where a website stores its data on the grid. Collaborative Grid Computing

  3. Collaborative Grid Computing uses technologies that support work between individuals by offering seamless collaboration. Individual workers in the network can readily access each other’s work as well as critical information on a real-time basis. Collaborative Grid is purposed to overcome geographical barriers by allowing remote individuals to work together. For Example, A Collaborative Grid enables users to access and work on text-based documents, design files, and other work-related products simultaneously. Manuscript Grid Computing Manuscript Grid Computing is useful in managing large volumes of text blocks. This can extend to visual graphic blocks also, allowing continuous accumulation of data blocks while processing operations on previous block batches. Manuscript Grid can be used to process vast volumes of text or manuscripts in parallel. There are furthermore types of Grid Computing in Cloud Computing, but aforementioned are main classifications. Grid Computing is a vast concept and has a wide range of practical applications. You will see more on such topics on our subsequent releases.
