  3. ASUS ROG FX503: Design Source: techdipper.com This laptop doesn’t come under the ROG sub-brand, but when it comes to its design palette and aesthetics, it looks pretty similar to ROG ones. As compared to other ASUS laptops, this one comes in the more affordable price range, but still, it got some fine texturing on both interiors and exteriors. Surprisingly at first glance, you won’t find a big difference between ASUS FX503 and the ROG Strix. So what is the difference between these two in terms of design? In AXUS fx503, the ROG logo is now replaced by the ASUS logo. To give a more premium look to the laptop, the top cover of the laptop is made from plastic with a brushed texture. It has four slanting streaks design that resembles the butterfly. There are some additions to this laptop, including fans which makes it bulky, and on top of that, it also comes with an optical disc drive. All these things make FX503 large, bulky, and heavy, and that’s why It hardly fits in a regular backpack.

  4. ASUS ROG FX503: Ports Source: techdipper.com The FX503 laptop has a decent selection of ports. On the left side, there is a charging port, LAN port, HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort, two USB 3.0 ports, and the 3.5mm audio jack. On the right side of the laptop, you can find the Kensington lock, one USB 3.0 port, and a full-sized SD card reader. Two vents are also present at the back of the laptop for heat dissipation. It would be best if this laptop also had a USB-C 3.1 Thunderbolt port; however, we can’t really complain about it at this price range!

  5. ASUS ROG FX503: Display Source: gadgetmtech.com Let’s move on to its display: the main event! The FX503 offers a 15.6-inch full-HD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. To be honest, this isn’t the first laptop that provides this display rate but again, at this price tag, it’s much appreciated! As compared to this, other competing gaming laptops have been jumping on the 4K and HDR bandwagon. However, the 1080p panel is both vivid and bright with well-saturated colors. So you can play games well in most lighting conditions without any issues.

  6. ASUS ROG FX503: Keyboard And Touchpad Source: techdipper.com We all expect to have a good keyboard and touchpad when it comes to gaming laptops, right! And Asus FX503 won’t disappoint you and definitely fulfils a gamers delight! It has an excellent full-sized QWERTY keyboard with a brushed metallic finish and also has a well-positioned and fairly large touchpad. With a red power button at the top, the keyboard has low-profile scissor-switch keys with an actuation distance of 1.8mm and an N-key rollover. These highlighted WASD keys with LED backlight will enhance your gaming experience. The keyboard is easy and comfortable to use and has a better and accurate sense of key presses. The N-key rollover support makes sure that all your keystrokes are registered, and you don’t have to suffer in the game.

  7. ASUS ROG FX503: Performance Source: techdipper.com Asus Rog FX503 has a 2.8GHz Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be further expanded to up to 32GB, and 128GB SSD SSD coupled with 1TB SATA storage. Asus ROG FX503V: Benchmark Scores PCMark 8 – Creative Accelerated: 4,783 3DMark – Time Spy: 1,866; Fire Strike: 5,575; Sky Diver: 17,083 Cinebench R15 OpenGL: 83.59fps Cinebench R15 CPU – Multi-core: 730cb; Single-core: 145cb ASUS ROG FX503: Battery Life Source: gadgetmtech.com As this is a gaming laptop, Asus provides a pretty decent battery life. On average, you’ll get around 5.5 hours of battery life with medium-level brightness if you’re doing web browsing or typing articles. However, when it comes to gaming, it’s better to do it with the cable plugged in only. This is because while playing games or doing any high GPU work, the ASUS FX503 took just 1 hour and 4 minutes to dissipate its entire charge. So, for optimal performance, use it on a power supply!

  9. ASUS ROG FX503: Pricing Source: techdipper.com Currently, Asus FX503 is available in two variants: one with Intel Core i5 processor and no SSD-based storage, but you’ll get 2GB of graphics memory. The other one comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 128GB of SSD, and better 4GB graphics memory. So, currently, you’ll get Asus fx503vm-ns52 at USD $1180.

  10. Final Verdict: ASUS ROG FX503 Source: laptopmain.com ASUS Rog FX503 is a mid-tier gaming laptop. So, if you’re looking for a gaming laptop in an affordable price range, this can be a good option for you. Though this laptop is more focused on gaming, you can also use it for creative and productivity tasks like video/photo editing and many more. ASUS Rog FX503 has good design ergonomics and build quality. However, this laptop is kind of more on the heavier side due to its design. So, it would be difficult to carry it around. Plus, the laptop only lasts for about 3-5 hours once removed from charging. But at this price range, it’s a steal deal! However, if you’re a professional gamer or want a dedicated gaming laptop, we would suggest going with the higher-end variant.
