Wolf Report • Remove incentives to run courses solely for their impact on school league tables. • Vocational courses should constitute 20% or less of a student’s timetable. • Effectively dismantle the QCF • Vocational qualifications should be limited to 1 GCSE per course. • Level 2 courses should have a path to level 3

The Attainment Centre’s Needs • Maximising coursework content • Minimising examination content • Minimising literacy and numeracy dependant content • A qualification that can be delivered by non-ICT-specialist teaching staff • A qualification whose support materials can be extensively constructed within the VLE • A qualification that counts in the school’s performance tables • A qualification that empowers the students of the AC with skills which they will use later in life

  7. NCFE Interactive Media • Benefits; • Extremely open and flexible with varied contexts and scenarios being able to be applied to the different units. • 3 Core Units to be completed with one optional. • 100% Coursework • 49 League Table Points • Equivalent to a GCSE B Grade

QCF IT Users Qualification • Benefits; • There are a number of resources which can be gleaned from the 4 different examination boards (especially City & Guilds and OCR). • 1 Core Unit and 3 Optional Units to be completed with one optional. • With the exception of the BCS course - 100% Coursework • 49 League Table Points • Equivalent to a GCSE B Grade
