  2. All religions have symbols. Can you recognise some of these symbols? What do you think they represent?

  3. Believe in 1 God equality, honest living, sharing & helping others They had 10 Guru’s (teachers)The holy book is called TheGuru Granth Sahib. You will find it at a Sikh Gurdwara (a place of worship)Sikhs have 5 K’s The Golden Temple

  4. Kesh (uncut hair) Sikhs do not cut their hair as it is a symbol of purity & holiness. Uncut hair, and wearing a turbanare symbols that show that you area Sikh.

  5. Kara (a steel bracelet) Symbolises an unbreakable bond with God. A Sikh must only do Gods work in accordance with the Holy Scripture. It also makes you think that you must not do wrong things.

  6. Kanga (a wooden comb) This symbolises keeping the body clean, neat and tidy. This is important to Sikhs as God created your body and would want you to look after it.

  7. Kaccha (cotton underwear) A type of breeches (shorts) worn by Sikhs. They are a symbol of purity & high moral character

  8. Kirpan (Ceremonial sword) This sword represents the fight against evil. It also represents the fight against injustice and how Sikhs must defend the weak.
