  1. 7 Fun Skills to Teach in China

  2. Introduction When teaching students belonging to a different culture, teachers need to apply innovation and choose fun skills to become one with the entire group. If you are planning to teach in China, you can choose some of the skills below to strengthen the learning process. Have you decided to go abroad and teach in China? With scores of teaching opportunities lying in this country, the blend of students in every class seems to be challenging for the teachers to handle. Language barrier is another hindrance you may face so learning the language of this country works in your favor. You are all set to go to China for teaching but knowing some of those quirky techniques can actually help you minimize the barriers and challenges. What are the fun skills that can help you engage students in China? Read the following points.

  3. Coloring and illustration As a new teacher, interacting with a set of students who speak a different language can be tough. Students might not open up thinking of you as a stranger than a teacher but nothing is impossible. Using additional tools and techniques of teaching can help. For instance, using different colors and illustration of the things that students need to learn is a better option. You can show them pictures that are related to the text or ask them to draw. Engaging students in different activities makes the process of learning interesting. For teaching in china, you have to apply relevant and surprisingly funny skills.

  4. Share your passion You can show the students about your ways of enjoying and having fun while teaching in china and students recognize your personality with ease. Even if it takes time to work, a lot of students will open up during the process. If you know how to sacrifice your authority as a teacher, students can absorb the concepts better. Use conversational techniques Do not utter the concepts of English language one after the other. Using techniques of conversation that students understand make them happy at the end of the learning session. You can ask each student to pretend as a fun cartoon character and ask them to write about them in between the learning sessions.

  5. Workshop and projects You can encourage participation of the entire class through different workshops and projects that help in enhancing the learning techniques. Ask them to build models on different concepts of grammar and also about the stories they learn in the textbooks and you will have a lot of smiling faces coming together to prove their mettle. • Implementing Chinese Whisper The game can open many locks when you are trying to teach a culturally different group. You can teach a concept and try to check if they have learned by asking them to whisper the examples into the ears of each other. It is a fun thing to do to strengthen learning.

  6. Mystery in the lessons Students do not participate in the class when the lessons are boring. You can include a bit of mystery in every lesson to encourage more participation. • Laughing at their jokes You know it is not funny but the art of pretending can help you become friendly with the entire class. Laughing at the jokes they crack allows you to be with them through the entire learning session.

  7. Rely on teachers Students love to rely on teachers but only if they are made to interact during discussions that allow them open up and eventually leads to a memorable and valued relationship.
