  5. PM NAAQS Currently Under Review The CAA requires review of the National Ambient Air Quality Standard every 5 years PM criteria document • Final by Summer 2004 • PM staff paper • Final by September 30, 2004 • FR notices signed • Proposal - March 31, 2005 • Final rule - December 20, 2005

EPA Draft Staff Paper Recommendations • The Administrator should consider selecting the level of the annual PM2.5 standard from within the range of 15 ug/m3 to approximately 12 ug/m3. • The Administrator should consider revising the 24-hour PM2.5 standard, selecting from a level from approximately 50 to 30 ug/m3 .
