  • For a determined load, any variation of the PV power will Directly affect the Power produced by the Generators (indirect relation)

  • The generator may work below its minimum acceptable load

  • If the power taken from the PV system is too big:

Reduce Service life

  • -Poor Combustion

  • -Deposit forming on turbo and exhaust

  • -Oil and lubricant consumption

  • Reverse current will be injected to the Stator of the Generator causing it to act as a load

Damage the Generator

  • -Stator Will heat and burn

  • If the variation of the PV power is big and relatively fast:

Poor Grid Quality

  • -Unstable Frequency

  • -High Distortion Levels

  • -Over/Under Voltage

Complete Shut Down of the Grid

  • Low spinning reserve: Generators incapable of taking full power of the PV system
