  6. National Rules – Update • RULE 1R – Pitching limits • Pitching Rule. No player may pitch more than a total of 105 pitches per day . A pitcher will be allowed to finish a batter if he reaches or exceeds the maximum limit during an at-bat, but must exit the position after that hitter . No player may enter the game as a pitcher without having fulfilled the required rest days as mandated in the chart below . No player may make more than two appearances as a pitcher during any consecutive three-day period . PENALTY – The pitcher is removed from the game and head coach shall be ejected from the game and serve an additional game suspension. • RULE 9 E1 – Tournament Games • All state, regional and World Series games are seven (7) innings. 10-run mercy rule after five innings of play or 4 1/2 innings if the home team has the last at-bat.

  7. State Rules – Point of Emphasis • RULE 3 – STATE WEBSITE • Each coach and player will be listed on the state website. The minimum information for players will be first and last name and jersey number. • The manager of each team will ensure that the game results are entered on the website within 24 hours of the conclusion of the game. • Pitchers’ information will be entered on the website after each game. The name, jersey number and number of pitches thrown must be entered • Each team’s schedule must be placed on the state website in order to enter the required information regarding game results and pitching. • RULE 2 - TEAM REGISTRATION AND VALIDATION • Team rosters for all teams will be placed on-line at www.alabamaamericanlegionbaseball.com one (1) day prior to their first game orJun 1, 2018 whichever date is earlier. A player should register on the Alabama website to facilitate placing the roster on the state site. The official American Legion roster will be submitted to the national website by June 25, 2018 at www.baseball.legion.org andnotification sent to the state chairman atalbaseball@charter.net. All teams may request their roster be returned and make changes to their roster until June 25th.

How to enter schedules • Log into your account as a manager • Go to your team page • Select schedule • The right side of the page will have the word “options” – click on options • Select the option – Add event • Enter the date of the game. Enter the starting time, enter the ending time. Select location from the list of options. If the field is not in the list then enter new location. Type of event is game. Select the 2018 season. Team information dropdown menu, make sure to select the correct team division and name. Select opponent from the dropdown menu. The bottom of the page has boxes with check marks, uncheck these boxes to keep from sending emails and text messages immediately. Once the information is entered then select the submit button and the information is uploaded on the site. Repeat the process until all games are entered on your team page.

How to enter roster • Log into your account as a manager • Go to your team page • Select roster • Each player on the roster is listed that has registered for your team. • The right side of the page will have the word “options” – click on options • Select the option – Add a player • Enter the information regarding the player.   Once the information is entered for the player then select the submit button and the information is uploaded on the site. Repeat the process until all players are entered on your roster.

How to assign jersey numbers to the roster • Log into your account as a manager • Go to your team page • Select roster • Each player on the roster is listed that has registered for your team. • The right side of the page will have the word “options” – click on options • Select the option – Assign jersey number • Enter the information regarding the players.   Once the information is entered for the player then select the submit button and the information is uploaded on the site.

How to enter game results • Log into your account as a manager • Go to your team page • Select results • The right side of the page will have three icons – Yellow, Gray and Red • Yellow icon – Edit game results to enter game score and provide any comments on the game. Once the information is added then select submit. The information is uploaded to the website.

How to enter pitching statistics • Log into your account as a manager • Go to your team page • Select results • The right side of the page will have three icons – Yellow, Gray and Red • Select the Gray icon to enter statistics • Each player on the roster is listed. Find the name of the pitcher. The box listed as PT (pitches thrown) is where the number of pitches thrown is recorded. The box listed as IP (innings pitched) is where the innings pitched can be entered.  Once the information is entered for all pitchers then select the submit button and the information is uploaded on the website.

  13. State Rules – Point of Emphasis • RULE 15 - DUAL ROSTERED PLAYERS Players will not be on two rosters within the same division. For example, Player A can not be rostered on two Junior Varsity rosters. Player A could be on a Junior Varsity roster and a Varsity roster and/or a 19U roster within the same American Legion Post. For example, a 15 year old player could be rostered on Post 123’s Junior Varsity, Varsity and 19U teams. The player could not be rostered on Post 123’s 15U team and any team for Post 456. • RULE 20 – HONORS TO DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM Players, coaches and game officials are expected to stand, face the flag (if present), remove their hat and render honors to the United States of America.

  15. Discover the joy of participating • Post teams have shared Opening Day ceremonies around the state that included city officials, Legion Riders, Auxilliary, SAL, Junior ROTC • Attend a Post game • Offer to lead the teams and fans in the Pledge of Allegiance at a game
