2. The measurements of the Milky Way. The Milky Way is HUGE! It is bigger than most other galaxies. The Milky Way contains BILLIONS of stars! Earth is located in a perfect spot, the middle of the edge and center. The heart of the Milky Way is 27,000 light years from Earth.

3. The color of a star is a clue to its temperature! The blue stars are the hottest! The red stars are the coolest! That means that a stars color is clue to its temperature. The thermometer takes reading that a blue star is much hotter than our sun! It also shows that a red star is not as hot as our sun.

4. The birth to death of a star. There Is a big pink cloud, this is a nebula. These nebulas are what make the stars. During the stars life it burns out its gases. Once the star is done and has no more gases, it burns out and debris float everywhere, this is called a supernova.

5. The black hole kills the stars! Every 1,000 to 10,000 years a star gets to close to a Black hole .The black holes super gravity sucks in a star and the star gets ripped and torn apart. The black hole then keeps going until it has all the stars it wants.

6. Words Worth Noticing! Artificial Satellite: A made by man relatively small mass that travels in an orbit. Reusable Spacecraft: A spacecraft that you can reuse until it gets too warn out. Space Station: A large satellite capable of making a crew, placed in permanent orbit around the Earth.

7. What I Learned……… During these guided reading meets I learned that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is very powerful and has many powerful things living inside of it. Like black holes that kill stars, nebulas that give birth to stars and planets, and all of the outstanding stars that have many different colors and temperatures.
