  1. Project Coordinator – Dr. Chathura De Silva Presented by Group 07 Members – Sathyajith Dharmawardhane Eran Rathnayake Kasun Chathuranga Anuradha Sandeepani IntelliTraffic(An intelligent Traffic Control System)

  2. Motivation • Due to under-utilization of highways, • The fuel wastage • Environmental pollution • The loss of the valuable time • Contravention and more…… • Static Scheduling vs. Dynamic Scheduling

  3. Features of IntelliTraffic • Minimize the average waiting time … • Maximize the use of the junction area • Dynamically adjust the signal timing according to the traffic flow. • Distributed monitoring and centralised scheduling of traffic. • Respond to pedestrian requests at crossings. • Able to recover from unexpected conditions.( e.g.:- deadlocks) • Fault tolerant • Secure and Reliable • Provide means of scheduling special events • Provide traffic information to authorised parties. - Live information - Long term statistical data

  4. Further Enhancements • Value added services - Optimal paths for vehicles - Fog alert • Work according to the situation (e.g.:-Accidents) • Identify and prioritise special vehicles (eg:- ambulances, fire brigades, etc; ) • Detect vehicles violating rules.

  5. How We Are Going to Implement This Dynamic Data AI Statistical data The data that come from current scenario The statistical data that have been collected and stored Intelligent system for making disicisions

  6. How We Are Going to Implement This

  7. Challenges & Limitations • Upper Bound • Lower Bound • Human Factors

  8. Process • Identify traffic problems & requirements • Feasibility study • Literature survey • Identifying constraints and technical barriers • Risk analysis • Research • System design • System development • Testing

  9. Conclusion • We expect that our new system will reduce the time wastage of people and fuel consumption of vehicles. • At the end, our system must reduce the environmental pollution, caused by vehicles, at urban areas.

  10. The End or the Beginning ? Thank You
